Greg Burr of IF&W was very pleased with the support from PFF and the results of the stocking effort of Little Pond. Nine club members showed up in Franklin to support Greg and his staff in catching brook trout from Johnnys Brook and Card Mill Stream for transport to Little Pond. Because of the large number of volunteers, the group was split up between those wanting to electro-fish and those wanting to try the more traditional line and hook method. The final count on Brook Trout was 102 fish. The road into Little Pond is pretty good with a short .4 mile walk into the pond. The pond is very clear and a beautiful setting for the lucky fish. Greg mentioned possibly having another stocking effort this fall. So those who wanted to but were not able to participate in this unique undertaking this time, may get another chance.

Great Team Effort and a very educational day! Greg asked for volunteers to fly fish to supplement the stocking effort – Talk about pressure! Even though the fish were very selective I am happy to report that the club did not get skunked. This is a great project and I feel privileged to have been able to participate. Here’s to more tight lines in our future!
